The Rebecca Murrie Jones Memorial Scholarship awards a yearly $1000 scholarship to Harding University, Searcy, AR. in honor of the memory of Rebecca, wife of Douglas W. Jones, daughter of C. Paul and Natalie Murrie, and sister/sister-in-law of Michael and Jacquelyn Murrie.

Scholarship recipients must be enrolled as full time students at Harding University during the semester or academic year for which the scholarship is issued. In choosing among the applicants, the donors and the university shall consider scholarship, leadership, diligence, demonstrated capability, and financial need. Recipients must maintain a satisfactory grade point average and a good reputation among faculty and students.

Preference is given to female applicants from middle income families meeting the following specific qualifications: a major or minor in missions AND journalism, nursing, OR home economics; GPA at least 2.5; and a demonstrated commitment to Christ through prior experience in teaching, volunteer work or other Christian service.

Each applicant should submit a personal essay (e-mail to: scholarship@murrie.net) explaining her educational interests and lifetime goals with emphasis on the qualifications mentioned in the two preceding paragraphs--the more information, the better. Please include a snapshot if you can.
